NEW ORLEANS (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Blues musician and artist Coco Robicheaux collapsed and died after suffering a heart attack while visiting a local music club, The Apple Barrel Bar on Frenchmen Street. He was 64.
According to The Examiner, Robicheaux was transported via ambulance to Tulane University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Born Curtis John Arceneaux, Robicheaux has been a fixture in the New Orleans music scene for decades, releasing his first album in 1994 and regularly performing in the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival since 1995.
Robicheaux, known for his mystical stage presence, even appeared on the first season of the New Orleans-focused HBO drama Treme, where he sacrificed a rooster in a radio station studio in the show's second episode.
