The MK1 Halloween Fatality has been causing some confusion among the player base. Namely, the Mortal Kombat 1 Halloween Fatality should have been added to the in-game store in the latest patch, but when you go to the shop, it’s not there. Even for those that have downloaded and installed the latest patch. So, what’s going on? Let’s discuss.
To get the Halloween Fatality in MK1 or Mortal Kombat 1, you’ll have to purchase it from the in-game store. That seems to be the overall consensus. I say that because, even though the patch that was supposed to add the Fatality to the store has dropped (according to Twitter), it’s still not available for purchase. That probably means the Fatality is in the store rotation; it just didn’t get its turn yet. You’ll probably be able to buy the Halloween Fatality in the next couple of days, probably on the 26th or the 27th, when the shop refreshes. This is just conjecture on our part; perhaps the “item” will only become available on Halloween. We’ll keep our ear to the ground and let you know when the thing arrives into the store.

We don’t know what the Fatality is even going to look like, but I assume it’s going to involve a Jack-o’-lantern in some fashion. Like, decapitating the opponent and replacing it with a pumpkin. Or punching a hole in the torso and putting the lit pumpkin inside. We’ll have to wait and see. As far as mechanics go, the major draw of the new patch is that “move tagging is officially back.” That means you can pin moves to the HUD which should help you remember combos and be more effective in fights. Honestly, I’m much more excited about that than the Halloween Fatality, but that’s just me.
