Greenwich Teen Finishes 3rd In International Photo Competition

Fram-Schwartz, 19 and a student at Brandeis University, offers viewers a perspective that most people will never witness -- a rare opportunity to stare directly into the eyes of a jumping spider with his prize-winning photo.

His ranking in the competition is impressive considering his young age. Fram-Schwartz used focus stacking to create his image, sourcing the final image from nearly 80 individual frames. According to his research, this image is one of the sharpest photomicrographs of a jumping spider's eye ever taken.

Nikon Small World, now celebrating its 40th year, is the largest and most prestigious photo competition of its kind.
