The Swedish actor from Stockholm was born on 25. August 1976. As the son of Hollywood star Stellan Skarsgård, it was no surprise that Alexander Johan Hjalmar Skarsgård began acting at the age of seven. He made his acting debut in the 1984 film adapted from the popular children’s book Ake and His World .
Although he started his acting career fairly early, Skarsgård was initially torn between training to be an actor or pursuing other interests. The actor’s academic records show that he first studied English at Leeds Beckett University in England for six months before later taking a drama course at Marymount Manhattan College. At the age of 19 he applied to join the Swedish army, although his military career was short. At 20, he finally decided to return and focus on acting.

On a visit to the United States in 2001, he auditioned for the role of Meekus in the cult classic Zoolander. Luckily, he landed the vacant male model role.
